January 2021 Update:

Thank you to all of our families for your patience and understanding throughout these very difficult few days. We have been busy revisiting our risk assessment to ensure we can keep the children and staff as safe as we possibly can. We are continuing to prioritise on site education for children with SEND/Disabilities, children whose families are frontline workers and children with family vulnerabilities. Nursery school has been open to these children from Wednesday 6th January. If you feel that your child meets this criteria, and is not currently attending nursery,  on site nursery provision is available. Please contact the school office or inform your child's keyworker.

Many of you have shared that you would prefer for your child to remain at home currently. We understand this decision and this will not affect your child place at nursery. We will continue to make contact and provide online, remote learning activities via Tapestry. Please ensure that you access Tapestry daily, as new activities will be posted. We will also prepare activity packs for you to collect. This will ensure all children are able to continue to access their early education.

Keyworkers will continue to be in contact with all families through weekly telephone calls and Tapestry. We are doing all that we possibly can to include as many children as we can in nursery safely. In line with our risk assessment, we have to ensure that we have the staffing capacity to open safely, within legal adult/child ratios. During this uncertain time, relationships and attachments  with keyworkers and key adults are very important. Therefore, we would be reluctant to use supply cover teachers, if your child's keyworker was not able to be in school.

If you would like to your child to access on site education, provision is available but  we would need to know in advance to enable us to plan to keep the children safely within family group bubbles, with familiar staff.
If you would like your child to access on site provision and return to nursery school, please inform your child’s keyworker during weekly wellbeing calls or phone the school office on 0121 464 2034.

We will continue to review our risk assessment and keep you updated via the website and through text messages

We hope you are all safe and well.

With very best wishes from Sally and all at Bloomsbury Nursery School.
